Income-generating activities

We provide income-generating activities in conjunction with the non-formal education curriculum.  A variety of craft skills are introduced, and students are encouraged to get involved in projects which will earn a financial return for their work and creativity.  The aim is for students to gain the confidence to learn new skills and begin to shape careers for themselves.  Family members are welcome to participate and IG projects are mostly run with the cooperation of local Non-Formal Education Committees (NFEC).

As you can see in the slide-show below, IG projects so far have included manufacture and marketing of artificial flowers, liquid soap, fruit flavoured ice-packets, school uniforms, school bags, snacks and jellies, bath mats and other items made from instant coffee sachets, and bead jewellery.  One class ran a laundry service.
